Food Justice: It’s in Our Roots. Nourishing Ourselves, Nourishing Life
We enjoyed exploring food and art with 80 students from DeVargas Middle School in December 2014. With winter squash grown at Gemini Farms, we savored roasted seeds and roasted squash flesh as well as squash soup. We planted the seeds of the squash for the students to cultivate on their own. And the kids were asked to create art pieces that represented their ideas about plant parts and human body parts and what is needed to survive and thrive.
